Q. What material is used in your molding process?
A.
Elenger Industries molds all of its cases using Diallyl Phthalate; more commonly referred to as DAP. It is a short-glass reinforced thermoset. The grade utilized meets MIL-M-14 Type SDG-F. In addition it has a UL Flammability Rating of 94V-0 at both 1/8” and 1/16” thickness. It is available in black or green.

Q. If I don’t see the size I’m looking for, won’t a new mold take longer and cost more?
A.
Our lead-time on new items is 3 weeks or less and our tooling costs are significantly lower than other suppliers.

Q. I’m working on a quote with only an end print. Do I need a print for you to quote an encapsulation shell?
A.
Truthfully - No. We have provided quotes from simple sketches, end prints and end product samples. In the end, a print of what we would be manufacturing is preferred, but with our experience, we can assist you in the design process of the encapsulation that you need.

Q. I’m involved in a brand new project. Do you do any type of prototyping?
A.
Yes, we can provide prototype runs on new items.

Q. How does sandblasting help with my potting process?
A.
Sandblasting provides a rough finish to the interior of the case. There are some potting materials that adhere better to the walls of the case when they are sandblasted.

Q. Do you carry stock on your standard parts?
A.
Sorry, but no. We manufacture all parts as they are ordered. This allows for easier tracking of specific lots. However, our lead-time on standard and modified parts is 2 weeks or less.

Q.
Do you have minimum ordering requirements?
A. Well, yes. But, we are happy to fulfill any quantity with a small set-up charge.
